We collect the following data when you use Appsademia:
- Email address — when you register via magic link or Google sign-in.
- Payment data — processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or banking details on our servers.
- Course progress — completed lessons and visited modules, to display your progress.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and country, used for security and aggregated analytics.
3. Purpose of Processing
We use your data to:
- Manage your account and course access.
- Send you your sign-in link (magic link) and transactional emails (purchase confirmation, course updates).
- Display prices in your local currency via country detection.
- Improve the product through aggregated, anonymised usage metrics.
4. Legal Basis
Processing of your data is based on:
- Contract performance (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) — to give you access to the course you purchased.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) — for platform security and anonymous usage statistics.
- Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) — for optional marketing communications, if requested.
5. Sub-processors and International Transfers
We work with the following providers who may process your data:
- Firebase / Google Cloud (USA) — authentication and database. Transfer covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Stripe (USA) — payment processing. PCI DSS Level 1 certified.
- Vercel (USA) — hosting. Transfer covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as you maintain an active account. If you request account deletion, we will erase your personal data within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it (e.g. billing records for 5 years).
7. Your Rights
As an EU resident you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of your data.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability — receive your data in a structured format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Restriction — restrict processing in certain circumstances.
